History

Dublin University Sailing Club, more commonly known as Trinity Sailing, is the largest student sailing club in Ireland with over 200 active members, 75 of whom compete regularly. We have an extensive history and culture of promoting sporting excellence both in Trinity College Dublin and further afield since 1930. The club is proud to successfully cater to all levels of sailors from beginners to competitors on the world stage. Our primary focus is on team racing in our team-owned Firefly dinghies. This involves two teams of three boats, each with two sailors, in an exciting battle to beat the other team through collective effort and scoring.

Achievements

Since its inception, Trinity Sailing has been at the forefront of student sailing in Ireland with numerous Varsities and Regional titles at Gold, Silver and Bronze fleet levels. DUSC boasts no less than 16 Irish Olympians amongst its alumni. This fact is unrivalled not only by any other student sailing club in thecountry, but also by any other sports club in Trinity College. DUSC is the only sports club to have won the British University Sailing Association championship three consecutive times. In March of this year, Trinity Sailing celebrated winning the Annual Colours Match against UCD for the second year in succession. In 2006 DUSC qualified for, and subsequently won, the Student Yachting World Cup. This represents an impressive achievement for the sailors.
