Captain: Kate Lyttle

Kate Lyttle is club captain for the 2021/22 season. Kate is a final year Law and Business student. This is her fourth year on the committee having previously served as Freshers Rep, Sailing Captain and International Officer. She is looking forward to continuing the work on the committee in her new role.

The role of the Club Captain is to work with the Secretary, Iseult, and the Treasurer, Andrew to oversee the work done by the committee and to lead the sailing club. The Club Captain acts as a link between the sailing club and the wider sailing community by coordinating with the central college bodies and the Club Captains of other universities.

Kate is a member of the Royal St. Georg Yacht Club and grew up sailing optimists and 420s competitively. She has been sailing for DUSC since entering college.

Secretary: Issy Larkin

Issy Larkin is the club secretary this year.

As secretary, she will manage the club’s administrative side and work with the captain, Kate, and treasurer, Andrew, to lead the work of the committee. She will also work closely with Trinity Sport to secure appropriate funding and supports from the college. Issy previously served as the club’s Communications and Freshers officer, maintaining the public face of the club and working to help all new members to the club get out on the water. Issy began sailing at the age of eight in Waterford Harbour Sailing Club in Dunmore East.

Treasurer: Andrew Tobin

Andrew is this years Treasurer. Andrew will be working closely with Captain, Kate and Secretary, Issy to oversea the smooth running of the club. Andrews Primary interest will be to manage the clubs finances and help gain funding for the club to attend IUSA events across the country and abroad. He has the purse as you might say.

Andrew is a final year student in MSIS and grew up sailing the the Royal Irish Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire.

Sailing Captain: Toby Hudson Fowler

Toby is this year’s sailing captain. He’s a junior sophister mechanical engineering student, and after a year as sailing officer, is ready to take the helm of the sailing side of the club.

His goal for the year is to get us back doing what brings us all together, living the IUSA dream and in turn making trinity sailing great again. Organising regular training and getting as many teams as possible together will make for a strong showing at the events both on and off the water

Sailing Officer: Morgan Lyttle

Morgan is a senior-fresher studying Geography and Geoscience. He is a Sailing Officer and is working in team with Marcus and Toby. The team is in charge of keeping the Trinity fireflies on top form for racing. Morgan sailed 420's internationally for many years and is now using his experience in double handed boats for Trinity Sailing. Morgan is eager to get back out sailing and to welcome the new freshers into the club.

Sailing Officer: Marcus Boggan

Marcus Boggan is one of this year’s sailing officers. He is a Senior Fresh student studying Law. In partnership with Morgan Lyttle as fellow sailing officer and together with sailing captain Toby, Marcus shares the responsibility of organising training sessions and maintaining the club’s fleet of Fireflies.

He began sailing in Waterford Harbour Sailing Club and has continued sailing and instructing there to date. He looks forward to playing an active role with the DUSC and getting the club back on the water in the coming season

Communications and Freshers Officer: Shona Gibson

Shona Gibson is this years Communications and Freshers Officer. Shona is in the final year of her acting training in Trinity’s Lir Academy. As the club’s PRO, she will be charged with maintaining the public face of Trinity Sailing on all their socials, emails and the website. As Freshers Officer, Shona will serve as a point of contact for all the prospective and incoming members next year, all the way through the season.

Shona grew up sailing in Lough Derg Yacht Club in Co. Tipperary and continued when she moved to Dublin in Trinity’s fireflies and RSGYC’s Keelboat sailing.

Sponsorship and Junior Treasurer: Eimear O’Regan

Eimear O’Regan is the sponsorship officer and junior treasurer for the club. She is a senior fresh student and is studying BESS. She is responsible for securing sponsorship for the club from private businesses throughout the year for the long term and for specific events during the sailing calendar. She also helps the club’s treasurer in overseeing the club’s finances throughout the year. Eimear started sailing in Schull, Co. Cork when she was ten years old and has been sailing with DUSC since entering the college last year.

Keelboat Officer: Rosemary Tyrrell 

Rosemary is this years Keelboat Officer. She is in her final year of Human Health and Disease. She started Sailing at age 6 in the Royal Irish Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire. She has large experience with Keelboat racing, having sailed a J109 for the last 4 years. Her goal is to put Trinity Sailing back on the map regarding Keelboat racing, putting teams together for every event and organising training throughout the year.

IUSA and International Officer: Emily Arrowsmith

Emily Arrowsmith is this years IUSA Easterns and International Officer. She is a first year Film and Spanish student. As Easterns officer she is looking forward to organising the first IUSA event in 18 months. In addition she hoping to get our sailors overseas to international events over the next year.

Emily started sailing in the Royal St. George in Dun Laoghaire when she was 7 and has loved sailing ever since.

Alumni Officer: Greg Arrowsmith

Greg is this years Alumni Officer. He is the incoming ENTS officer of Trinity College taking a year out from PPES and is looking forward to seeing how the two roles can work together. He is determined to have the club return to their infamous Alumni Events this year with a day of great sailing followed by an even better evening of entertainment in which we look forward to welcoming back all Alumni. As the club missed their 90th Birthday due to COVID restrictions we hope to make up for it in celebrating 91!

Ents Officer: Ross Donnelly

Ross is a second year student and is entertainments officer this year. Ross learnt to sail back in Skerries and has his fondest memories on the sea. He'll be planning the club's social events this year, everything from meetups to nights out. He's buzzing to see everyone back on the water and the dance floor to knock out a bit of fun after a tough year.
