Captain: Finn Walker

Finn is in his final year studying Business and Economics here at Trinity College. Finn previously had the committee roles of first year rep and sailing captain and returns for a fourth consecutive year on the committee. 

This year carries substantial significance for the club, characterized by a surge in membership, encompassing both novice sailors and the flourishing performance teams. In addition, the Club has the honour of hosting this year's annual Colours match against UCD and IUSA Easter a in October. Trinity Sailing Club aims to further alumni engagement and build strong financial partnerships to support the Clubs ever growing membership. In November of this academic year our annual alumni event is to be held at the esteemed Royal St George Yacht Club.

Finn has thoroughly enjoyed his time with Trinity Sailing over the years, travelling to  nationwide competitions and as is planned this year to international Championships.

He is resolutely committed to steering the club toward new horizons, with a particular emphasis on increasing the number of women at the helm and advancing the club toward its competitive aspirations. Finn is thoroughly looking forward to the year ahead!

Secretary: Adam Leddy

Adam is a final-year student studying Maths.

Adam has held various roles on the committee over the years, including being Keelboat Captain and a Sailing Officer. The role of Secretary is to organize and plan upcoming events and ensure that everything runs smoothly. With a strong committee this year, Adam can't wait to see all the great things that Trinity Sailing can achieve.

Treasurer: Natacha Byrne

Tacha is studying law and politics. She is a final-year student and has been a member of DUSC since joining Trinity in 2021.

As treasurer, Tacha is committed to seeing the club develop and grow as we head into the 2024/25 sailing season with an incredibly strong team. She will be responsible for the club’s finances while also contributing to organizing events throughout the year.

Tacha is delighted to be a part of the committee this year, and is ready for another great year on the water!

Alumni Officer: Kirsten Quinn

Kirsten is this year’s Alumni Officer. She is in her final year of Global Business and has just returned from a year in Spain.

She looks forward to growing our alumni database and creating opportunities for more engagement throughout the year!

She will keep all of our alumni well informed of DUSC’s achievements, highlights, and upcoming events of interest for the year.

She is determined to make this year’s alumni event a fantastic occasion and to see as many of our alumni there as possible!

Keelboat officer: Nicole Tracey

Nicole is in her fourth year of studying Mechanical Engineering and has been sailing keelboats since she was 16. She is excited to make keelboats a more regular part of the Trinity Sailing calendar.

As Keelboat Captain, she has two main goals for the year: to make keelboats less intimidating for everyone and to win Match Racing and Student Yachting Nationals!

Ents officer: Lily Fitzpatrick

Lily is a third-year Nursing student.

Lily has the all-important role of organizing our social scene, a vital part of making Trinity Sailing the community that it is. This is Lily’s first year as Events Officer, and she can’t wait to plan many nights out and team bonding events throughout the year, bringing a fresh perspective to the role.

Whether it’s our Freshers Week activities, the annual Christmas Dinner, or some of our many other nights out throughout the year, Lily is committed to making sure our events are accessible and safe for everyone while ensuring the highest levels of craic.

International officer: William Sunderland

William is in his second year studying computer science. He grew up in England, where he sailed and competed at a high level.

As the club’s International Officer, William is responsible for maintaining and building relationships with other university sailing teams outside of Ireland. He plans to use his connections and friends in the UK to secure invitations to various events this coming year for Trinity.

He’s looking forward to organizing events across the UK and Europe, all with the aim of boosting Trinity’s talent and reputation internationally.

Communications and Freshers officer: May McGlew

Communications and Freshers Officer: May McGlew

May is this year's Communications and Freshers Officer. She is in her second year studying BESS.

As the club's PRO, May will maintain the public face of the DUSC through social media and emails, facilitating communication between new and existing members through the official club accounts. She will actively capture all the action of the club, both on and off the water.

As this year’s Freshers Officer, May will also strive to increase membership and build good relationships with all new members of the club, acting as their primary contact within the club and ensuring that they feel both supported and well integrated into the Trinity Sailing family.

Sponsorship and Junior Treasurer: Oisin Huges

Oisin is a second year BESS student. He began sailing at the age of 12 and has competed at a high international level for several years.

Oisin is in charge of managing our club's sponsorships. It is his responsibility to raise money for the club as well as developing, fostering and building our relationships with both current and new sponsors:

Oisin is also responsible for sourcing and distributing Trinity Sailing team gear.

Sailing officer: Kei Walker

Kei is studying Business and Russian.

Alongside Sam, Kei will be in charge of maintaining our fleet of Fireflies. They will carry out regular boatwork and ensure the upkeep of our Trinity boats.

He is looking forward to the year ahead.

Sailing officer: Sam Ledoux

Sam is in his second year of engineering. He has grown up sailing out of Dun Laoghaire from a young age and still competes at a high level.

He has experience sailing a variety of boats and possesses a wide knowledge of skiff maintenance and general boatwork. As Sailing Officer, Sam will be in charge of maintaining the upkeep of the Trinity fleet of boats and ensuring they are fit for sailing at all times.

He is looking forward to the year ahead.
