Captain: Marcus Boggan

Marcus is in his final year studying Law here at Trinity College. Marcus previously had the committee roles of sailing officer and Keelboat officer and returns for a third consecutive year on the committee. 

This year carries substantial significance for the club, characterized by a surge in membership, encompassing both novice sailors and the flourishing performance teams. In addition, the Club has the honour of hosting this year's annual Colours match against UCD and the IUSA Westerns Championship alongside the University of Galway. Trinity Sailing Club aims to further alumni engagement and build strong financial partnerships to support the Clubs ever growing membership. In November of this academic year our annual alumni event is to be held at the esteemed Royal St George Yacht Club.

Marcus has thoroughly enjoyed his time with Trinity Sailing over the years, travelling to  nationwide competitions and as is planned this year to international Championships.

He is resolutely committed to steering the club toward new horizons, with a particular emphasis on increasing the number of women at the helm and advancing the club toward its competitive aspirations. Marcus is thoroughly looking forward to the year ahead!

Secretary: Morgan Lyttle 

Morgan is a final year student studying Geoscience. He will be doing a capstone project on dating specific tectonic events that shaped the mountains of Ireland.

Morgan first came aboard the committee as a sailing officer. Gaining more experience on how the club operates Morgan moved upwards as IUSA Event Organiser and is now Secretary! The role of Secretary is to organise and plan upcoming events and to make sure that everything runs smoothly. With a strong committee this year, Morgan can't wait to see all the great things that Trinity Sailing can achieve.

Treasurer: Emma Gallagher

Emma is a BESS student majoring in Business and minoring in Economics, she is a final year student and has been a member of DUSC since joining Trinity in 2020. 

As treasurer, Emma is keen to see the club develop and grow as we head into the 2023/24 sailing season with an incredibly strong team. She will be responsible for the club’s finances whilst also contributing to the organisation of events throughout the year.

Emma has had a fantastic time being part of DUSC throughout her college experience, having the opportunity to travel both nationally and internationally with her teammates. She is delighted to be a part of the committee this year, and is ready for another great year on the water!

Sailing Captain: Finn Walker

Finn has returned as our sailing captain. He is in third year of Business and Economics. He started sailing at the age of 6 in Italy. 

The role of sailing captain is to organize training sessions, maintain the boats for trinity, and create teams for the events. As sailing captain, Finn is hoping to bring Trinity Sailing back to its winning ways, through more training sessions, by getting trinity sailing to compete in more events, and by forming the best teams possible. Sailing Officer: Rian Geraghty-McDonnell

Rian is one of this year’s sailing officers. He started sailing at the age of 5 in Bermuda and has since raced at a high level in multiple boats. He is in his second year of Engineering at Trinity.

Sailing Officer: Simone Daranyi

Simone is in her second year studying Engineering at Trinity. Growing up on an island off the coast of Maine, she has spent much of her life on and around boats. Before sailing at Trinity, Simone sailed and worked on the fleets of boats she crewed on in Casco Bay, Portland Maine.

The role of sailing officer is to maintain the Trinity Sailing fleet of fireflies as well as be present at trainings and events

Trevor is second year MSISS student.

He started sailing when he was 6 years old in the RSGYC and has been team racing for many years.

As one of the sailing officers, he is responsible for maintaining the boats and organising moving boats to all the different IUSA events.

Communications and Freshers Officer: Madison O’Conaill

Madison is this year's Communications and Freshers officer. Madison is in her second year reading History at Trinity and has grown up sailing in Dublin.

As the clubs PRO, Madison will be maintaining the public face of the DUSC through their social media and emails. Including facilitating communication between new and existing members through the official club accounts. In addition to actively capturing all the action of the club, both on and off the water. 

As this year’s Fresher’s Officer, Madison will also strive to build good  relationships with all new members of the club. Acting as their primary contact within the club and ensuring that they feel both looked out for and well integrated into the Trinity Sailing family.

Events Officer: Jill Murphy

Jill is a 3rd year Computer Science and Business student. Hailing from Tipperary, Jill didn’t let a landlocked county get in the way of her sailing career 

In charge of organising our social scene, a vital part of making Trinity Sailing the community that it is. Jill is our returning events officer for this year and can’t wait to plan many more nights out and team bonding events throughout the year. 

Whether its our Freshers Week activities, annual Christmas Dinner or some of our many other nights out throughout the year, Jill is committed to making sure our events are accessible and safe for everyone while ensuring the highest levels of craic.

Alumni Officer: Emily Arrowsmith

Emily is this years Alumni officer. She is in her final year of Film and Spanish and grew up sailing in Dublin. 

As the clubs Alumni officer Emily will maintain the communication and connection with Alumni about current events in the club, individual highlights of sailors and upcoming events that Alumni might be interested in. As alumni officer Emily will strive for more involvement and engagement with the club for the Alumni that are further out of college, especially in regards to attending the Annual DUSC Alumni event.

Harry is a second year Business and Russian student. He has been sailing all his life. 

Harry is using his business skills to raise money for the club by building and managing our relationships with our current sponsors and reaching out to new sponsors

IUSA and International Officer: Morgan Devine

Morgan is in his final year reading History of Art and History here at Trinity.

Morgan spent his last year on Erasmus at the University of St Andrews which gave him the opportunity to participate in events across the UK. Because of his time sailing with St. Andrews, Morgan has been able to secure invitations to various events this coming year for Trinity. 

Morgan has had a blast with Trinity Sailing over the years, traveling to Loughborough, London and all around Ireland competing for the club. He’s pumped to participate in events across the UK and Europe to bolster Trinity’s talent and reputation internationally.

Keelboat Officer: Adam Leddy

Adam is a 3rd year maths student and is one of this year’s keelboat officers. He is looking forward to making keelboat sailing a regular part of the DUSC and IUSA calendars, sending teams to match and fleet racing events. Adam started sailing at 10 in Greystones and now races different keelboats inshore and offshore, as well as the IUSA team racing.

Keelboat Officer: Natacha Byrne

Natacha is a third year Law and Political Science student who has been sailing in Dublin since she was 7. 

As keelboat officer, Natacha is hoping to work with Adam to increase the number of keelboat events that DUSC attends, encourage a larger participation and hopefully get some wins for Trinity too.
